Le « Kenavo » était un langoustier à vivier de 18 m construit au chantier Keraudren de Camaret en 1948 pour Jo Cornec. L’armateur était Arsène Le Dé (Camaret).
Le « Kenavo » a pratiqué la pêche à la langouste au Portugal et au Maroc. En 1951 il explorait les fonds méditerranéens, la Corse, la Sardaigne; il est allé jusqu’en Mauritanie en 1960. L’été il pêchait le thon.
Vendu en nov 1973 pour Salcombe (Devon) à MM. Murray Richard et Hitchen William au Royaume Uni.
Il a ensuite été racheté en 1986 par un certain Roger Barton et a été transformé en brick destiné à la location pour tournages de films. Rebaptisé « CARRIE OF CAMARET », il a servi lors du tournage de l’émission du jeu de TV réalité irlandaise « Cabin Fever » en 2002-2003 et a fait le tour de l’Irlande. Le « Kenavo » a fait naufrage sur un récif de Tory Island dans le comté du Donegal en juin 2003 et a été complètement détruit, sans toutefois faire de victime.

Just some information about KENAVO. I knew her well when she was a casier in Salcombe. Always the handsome white ship! She did not become a yacht, but was bought in 1986 by a guy called Roger Barton and converted into a brig for film charter work. She was renamed Carrie of Camaret and was used for the Irish reality TV show « Cabin Fever » in 2002/3, sailing around the island of Ireland. She ran onto a reef off Tory Island in Donegal in June 2003 and was a total loss. All souls saved. Good to see you busy – back over in Brest next month and perhaps see you in Camaret later.
